I am tired looking at my daffodils after flowering. When should I cut them back?

 

All bulbs have exhausted all their energy after flowering, It is only now that they start to manufacture the bulb internally for next spring. The more green foliage left means the more chance the bulbs have to produce more food to feed next years bulb. Leave foliage alone for a minimum of 6 weeks or let the foliage wither naturally.

When can I prune my roses?

 

Best time of the year it is usually March. Cutting out as much old wood as posible to produce new shots. Trying to create an open center and outward facing buds.

What are the best plants to use for hanging baskets?

 

Any of the following will do great in yor summer baskets filling the baskets in time:

Surfinias, Trailing Gereniums, Fuchsias, Begonias, etc

Feed and water well!

What plants can I use for late summer flowering?
 

Some of the best plants to give late summer colour are hydrangeas, dahlias, salvias and most late summer herbaceous plants.

How can I minimise weeds in the garden?

 

As the quotetion goes "one years weeding saves seven years seeding". By using a weed membrane like mypex, you can greatly reduce the amount of perenial weeds in your garden. Annual weeds can be hoed or pull up By mulching flower beds and if need it the careful use of 'roundup'.
